Italian Catholic Federation (I.C.F.)
The purpose and mission of the I.C.F., founded in 1924, is to nurture Italian culture, promote religion and charitable activities on family participation. The I.C.F. National Charity is Cooley’s Anemia. Since 1983, the I.C.F. has donated over $1,000,000 for research and treatment of this disease. The Gift of Love was created in 1996 to assist developmentally delayed/disabled persons to advance in their education or employment along the path to dignity and independence. Organ Donor Awareness was endorsed in 1995 to educate members about organ and tissue donations to help those awaiting these miraculous extensions of life. The I.C.F. grants first, second, third and fourth year scholarships to deserving Catholic students of Italian Heritage. Local I.C.F. districts hold an annual Bishops’s Day to contribute to the training of seminarians and to local charities including Haven of Peace, Food Bank and St. Mary’s Interfaith Dining Hall. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month, at 6:00pm, in the St. Joachim Meeting Room.
