Hi everyone, my name is Ms. Christ and I am the new Art Teacher here at Presentation.
I have been teaching art for close to 20 years to all ages. Never too young and never to old. I spent time with Lincoln Unified, Stockton Unified, and with Young Rembrandts In Shaping Our Future. I have a private studio which I have held private art leassons for almost 10 years. Each year, I am involved with The Haggin Museum, and will be taking the art of our students from Presentation to The Haggin for display..
For the most part, I will have the chance to be a part of each of your childs life during the school year. I am looking forward to meeting each of them, and creating some awsome art with them. We are going to be working with different mediums, such as paint, clay, beads, stained glass, and building structures.
Working with 2-D and 3-D art forms does not make up our class entirely though. I am teaching art history in every class. The elective class consisting of the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, will have a much more extensive course in the history of art. We learn about many artists of great influence from history, to the peices of art hanging in museums around the world. My goal is to have each student leave my class with some knowledge and cultural approach to the finer arts.
I also look forward to meeting the parents and other family members of Presentation. I encourage any and all of you to please visit with me or call me if you have any questions, or ideas you'd like to express. I am always open to new ideas or requests.
In Christ's name and love,
Michelle E. Christ
