Some of the subjects our students will explore this year include:

Personal and Community Heath, i.e., Texting, Peer Pressure, Saving Our Oceans.
In grade five, students learn effective strategies to reduce their risk of illness and injury. Students will learn about the relationship between their personal health and environmental conditions, and how to set and monitor goals to help protect the environment.
Growth and Development , i.e., What is Sweat? What is Acne? Students will learn about the physical, social, and emotional changes that occur during puberty. They will learn that parents/guardians and other trusted adults are resources for effective communication skills for discussions about the changes that occur during puberty.
Nutrition and Physical Activity, i.e., food groups, portions sizes, nutrition facts and food labels. Students will learn how to use the information on food nutrition labels to become aware of more-nutritious and less nutritious foods and beverages. In grade five, students will learn how good health is influenced by both healthy eating and physical activity.
